BLUE RIDGE POMEGRANATES —  Blue Ridge Pomegranates
Picking from pomegranate trees is so much fun, so bring your families and friends to visit the orchards! You will get to see where the fruit comes from and pick them from the trees that have been individually hand-planted. Experience life as you walk among our pomegranate trees. You pick pomegranates season is back and we will be open the weekend of October 19th and 20th from 8:00am-1:00pm (weather permitting). Our crop is beautiful and you will be delighted as you choose your perfect pomegranate. Due to the nature of the event please wear closed-toe shoes. We also recommend small pruning/hand cutters for easier picking and for the health of the trees. We provide the picking bucket.

Rockville Hills Regional Park Trail Crew   Saturday,  OCT  19, 2019

CITY OF FAIRFIELD —  Rockville Hills Regional Park
The Rockville Trail Crew volunteer work days are scheduled for the third Saturday of every month from 9-12noon, rain or shine! Trail Crew volunteers provide technical assistance with trail maintenance and construction activities on the trails. Trail Crew volunteer duties consist of clearing rocks, trees, brush and other debris from proposed trail routes; build/repair walk ways, bridges or other structures; grade/fill existing trail paths to ensure user safety; and attend all required meetings and training sessions. Volunteers should bring water, gloves and a tool if available. Volunteers should wear layered clothing and sturdy shoes. A snack and beverage provided for volunteers. Meet at the parking area. Tree Planting   Saturday,  OCT  19, 2019

BENICIA TREE FOUNDATION —  Park Solano
Join BTF volunteers and help plant young trees at the Benicia Housing Authority on Riverhill Drive. The trees we're planting will add shade, clean the air and spruce up this neighborhood! No experience necessary, tools and instruction provided. Bring gloves if you have them. Children under 14 must have accompanying adult and all participants must sign our release waiver. SOLANO LAND TRUST —  Rush Ranch
This easy, family friendly hike will start and end at the Rush Ranch picnic area. Barbara Fredericks will lead some warm up stretches and a yoga session later on. Participants can enjoy the sun on their face and the wind in their hair while they do yoga. Meet at picnic tables. This is a freeevent. RSVP recommended RSVP recommended online.

BENICIA STATE PARKS ASSOCIATION —  Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden
We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden.

Pumpkin Patch Festival    Saturday,  OCT  19, 2019

BAY AREA ELECTRIC RAILROAD ASSOCIATION —  Western Railway Museum
At the Pumpkin Patch, you can purchase your pumpkins, as well as snacks, drinks and other homemade specialties. There are plenty of activities at the pumpkin patch such as tractor rides, field maze, pumpkin chucking, petting zoo, pony rides and the giant hay bale fortress! All proceeds benefit the Western Railway Museum (a nonprofit educational institution) and the local Rotary Clubs who provide thousands of dollars to local community and youth activities each year. Non-member admission process are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (65 and up), and $10 for children (ages 2 –14). Members prices are discounted. Prices include admission to the Museum and to the Pumpkin Patch, unlimited train rides, use of the Museum's spacious and shaded picnic grounds, and free parking. Tickets are available at the door or you may purchase them in advance online.

Horse Day at McIntyre Ranch   Saturday,  OCT  19, 2019

GVRD —  McIntyre Ranch
For ages 10-17 -- Learn about the friendly horses and goats, and participate in their daily care. Wear sturdy work clothes and tough shoes because this is a "hand-on" experience. You will put a halter on a horse, learn to lead horses safely, brush them, clean their feet and clean their stalls. Everyone will have a chance to sit on a horse (helmet are required and provided, keep hairstyle simple for easy fit). Eat a good breakfast, bring water bottle and wear layers. For more information contact the Coordinator at 707-648-4620. $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents. Pre-registration is required.

Take St. John’s Mine Road and cross over the cattle crossing. Continue up the road and stay to the right to follow the road down to the barn. You are authorized to drive through this road for GVRD programs only.

SOLANO LAND TRUST & RUSH RANCH EDUCATIONAL COUNCIL —  Rush Ranch
Get the Rush is a series of fun and free activities for the whole family, offered on the third Saturday of every month at Rush Ranch. All ages and mobility levels are welcome! This event is 100% volunteer-run and activities vary month-to-month. Get the Rush! is made possible by Rush Ranch Educational Council, Access Adventure, Napa-Solano Audubon Society, and Solano Land Trust volunteers. The blacksmith shop is open rain or shine. Rain, soil conditions, or extreme heat may cancel other activities.
