MONTICELLO CYCLING CLUB —  Rockville Hills Regional Park
Get ready for the Rockhopper Enduro--a Stage 4 Race--at Rockville Hills Regional Park. This event is a Vacaville Dirt Dogs fundraiser. Proceeds will be going back into the sport by supporting High School Mountain Bike racing. Online Registration is OPEN NOW online. ENTRY FEE is $55 for adults and $35 for juniors. PLEASE NOTE: No event parking will be available at Rockville Hills Regional Park. Event parking is located at Solano Community College, 4000 Suisun Valley Rd, Fairfield, CA 94534, LOT 2. All racers must check in and sign waivers before racing the morning of the event from 7:00am – 8:30am. Check will be at LOT 2 of the Solano Community College (see map online). Halloween Hike   Saturday,  OCT  29, 2016

BAY AREA RIDGE TRAIL COUNCIL —  Rockville Trails Preserve
Dress up as your favorite plant or animal for this Halloween hike. Beware of dressing up as a rabbit though because you might become a tasty treat for a predator! Learn about the plants and animals and explore the ecosystems of Rockville Trails Preserve on this hike with docent Steve Pressley. The hike will be from 3 ½ to 4 hours long covering 4 to 5 miles through grass and oak woodlands with views of Suisun Bay. The terrain at Rockville Trails Preserve is difficult. Ages 8 and up are welcome, but those with health, breathing or balance issues should consider an easier hike. Participants on this hike must be prepared for the following: A moderate to strenuous pace hiking 4 to 6 miles up and down slippery, steep, and rugged hills that may be full of sticky seeds and thorny plants. Expect rough, rocky, uneven ground. Some travel may be off-trail. Register online. Rain may cancel. Call Steve at 707-980-3152 if the weather is uncertain.

BENICIA STATE PARKS ASSOCIATION —  Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden
We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden.

BENICIA MAIN STREET ORGANIZATION —  Southern Pacific Railroad Depot
The normally mild-mannered Southern Pacific Railroad Depot will mysteriously transform into a frightful depository of ghosts, goblins and spirits daring the public to pay a visit. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children under 6 years of age with a donation of a canned good item (without a donation adults $6, children under 6 years $4). The hours of the Haunted Depot are Fridays, October 21 & 28 from 6-9pm; Saturdays, October 22 & 29 from 12-4pm and 6-9pm; Sundays, October 23 & 30 from 12-4pm; and Halloween.

MARE ISLAND HERITAGE TRUST —  Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve
NightMARE Island returns to Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve! Get ready to get scared at our Annual Halloween Haunt Fundraiser on the grounds of the historic Mare Island Ammo Depot! Come haunt with us Thursdays – Sundays, October 20-23 & 27-31 from 5-9pm each evening. This year’s host, back from the near-dead, is "The man with one foot in the world of the living and the other foot six feet under": THE UNDERTAKER! He has so much planned for your visit! Attendees are encouraged to bring their own flashlights and come in costume. This is an all-ages event, though some of the attractions may be more suited to the 13+ crowd. (They will be marked.) Join The Undertaker on a tour of the Navy's oldest cemetery in the west, with graves dating back to the 1850's (nightly at 6:30pm), hike to the highest point on Mare Island, on the 1-mile long paved trail to visit the Spirit Ship and take in the 7-county twinkling view. (Rides in the Undertaker’s Hearse available to those with physical or costuming disabilities!) We will have outdoor displays, and many haunted sets in a 5,000 sq ft abandoned building. Entry Donation: Age 15 & older, $2-10 sliding scale. Children & under 15, Free.
