Native Blackberry Propagation Workshop   Thursday,  OCT  6, 2016
9:30 AM

PUTAH CREEK COUNCIL & SOLANO RESOURCE CONSERVATION DISTRICT —  Lake Solano County Park
Come help Putah Creek Council and our partners at Solano Resource Conservation District propagate native blackberry at Lake Solano Park. These prickly California natives provide nutritious food for wildlife and humans alike! The prickles are tiny compared to the non-native Himalayan Blackberry, but still use caution when picking these tasty treats. The plants we collect will be used in future habitat planting projects within the Putah Creek watershed. This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill and soak up the morning scenery at Lake Solano. We provide all the tools and supplies, including gloves. We'll be meeting at 9:30 am and work until noon. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. If you are under 18, you MUST bring a completed liability form with a parent's signature (available online). This event will happen rain or shine! PCC will bring ponchos and mud boots if necessary. Due to tool availability, we can only accommodate a limited number of people. For more information, liabilty form, and to register, visit the workshop page online.
