Pumpkin Patch Festival    Sunday,  OCT  9, 2016
9:30 AM

BAY AREA ELECTRIC RAILROAD ASSOCIATION —  Western Railway Museum
Gather the family and begin at the Western Railway Museum. The first electric express train leaves at 10:00 AM with departures every half-hour until 4pm. The ride on a historic life-sized electric train takes visitors back in time on a scenic five-mile trip to Gum Grove Station, a wooded glen far from the trappings of modern life. Local Rotarians from the Fairfield-Suisun, Cordelia, and Dixon Rotary Clubs are rallying together to make the event a success, providing a hay bale fort, food, tractor rides, music, games and of course, pumpkins for sale, just in time for Halloween. Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (65 and up), and $10 for children (ages 2 –14). Prices include admission to the Museum and to the Pumpkin Patch, unlimited train rides, use of the Museum's spacious and shaded picnic grounds, and free parking. Tickets are available at the door or you may purchase them in advance online. There is a small processing fee for advanced tickets. All proceeds benefit the Western Railway Museum (a nonprofit educational institution) and the local Rotary Clubs who provide thousands of dollars to local community and youth activities each year.

Sunday Supper   Sunday,  OCT  9, 2016
4:00 PM

SOLANO LAND TRUST —  Joyful Ranch
Join Solano Land Trust as they celebrate their 30th Anniversary with an old-fashioned Sunday Supper. Enjoy an extraordinary evening filled with stories of the land, live music, and a sumptuous meal prepared by Michael Quinn, Executive Chef of Fuso Italian Restaurant. Solano Land Trust is proud to have helped protect the historic Joyful Ranch forever in partnership with Ethel Hoskins, a descendent of James Madison Pleasants, the man who bought this land around 150 years ago. "There is value in legacy," says Ethel, who with her sister Jean Hoskins Callison placed 366 acres of the ranch in Pleasants Valley into a conservation agreement with the help of Solano Land Trust. The evening will also include a unique auction of one-of-a-kind items and experiences, with guest host and auctioneer Doug McConnell from the television show Open Road.
