10:00 AM BAY AREA RIDGE TRAIL COUNCIL Rockville Trails Preserve Remember the day AFTER Thanksgiving? Not into Black Friday shopping? Had enough TV football? Kids need wiggle-time? Nothing to do or offer your out-of-town guests? What to do with the leftovers? Bring Thanksgiving leftovers, family and visitors, and let’s get outdoors and explore a hidden corner of Solano County. Choose to #OptOutside on Black Friday! Enjoy Rockville Trails Preserve on this hike with docent Steve Pressley. The hike will be from 3 ˝ to 4 hours long through grass and oak woodlands with views of Suisun Bay. The terrain at Rockville Trails Preserve is difficult. Ages 8 and up are welcome, but those with health, breathing, or balance issues should consider an easier hike. Participants on this hike must be prepared for the following: A moderate to strenuous pace hiking 4 to 6 miles up and down slippery, steep, and rugged hills that may be full of sticky seeds and thorny plants. Expect rough, rocky, uneven ground. Some travel may be off-trail. Preregistration is strongly recommended online. Rain may cancel. Call Steve at 707-980-3152 if the weather is uncertain. 5:00 PM MARE ISLAND HERITAGE TRUST Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve Every weekend evening Friday–Sunday, 5:00pm-8:00pm. Rain or shine! Walk the 1-mile paved trail with holiday lighting to the Naval Cemetery, Rowser Garden, and the Spirit Ship. Music, refreshments, gift items, and a campfire at the Visitors Center, at the south end of Railroad Ave. Free but donations appreciated.
