8:30 AM NAPA - SOLANO AUDUBON SOCIETY — Benicia Join Robin Leong to scout several locations in advance of the Benicia Christmas Bird Count on December 18. Preview several areas in the 15 mile diameter Benicia Christmas Bird Count (BCBC) circle. You will learn how to estimate the number of species seen, as well as tally as many species as possible. Since this field trip is during the count period, species can be counted as a Count Week species if they are not seen on the December 18th Christmas Bird Count. We will bird until approximately 2 p.m. Dress warmly in layers, and bring something to eat, if you would like lunch or a snack during the trip. For more information, contact Robin by email. 5:00 PM MARE ISLAND HERITAGE TRUST — Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve Every weekend evening Friday–Sunday, 5:00pm-8:00pm. Rain or shine! Walk the 1-mile paved trail with holiday lighting to the Naval Cemetery, Rowser Garden, and the Spirit Ship.
