7th Annual Mare Island Aglow Holiday Lighted Trail Walk   Friday,  DEC  2, 2016

MARE ISLAND HERITAGE TRUST —  Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve
Every weekend evening Friday–Sunday, 5:00pm-8:00pm. Rain or shine! Walk the 1-mile paved trail with holiday lighting to the Naval Cemetery, Rowser Garden, and the Spirit Ship. Music, refreshments, gift items, and a campfire at the Visitors Center, at the south end of Railroad Ave. Free but donations appreciated.

Christmas Tree Lighting & Holiday Festivities   Friday,  DEC  2, 2016

FAIRFIELD MAIN STREET ASSOCIATION —  Downtown Fairfield
The Fairfield community kicks off the holidays with a festive tree lighting ceremony for the entire family. Enjoy an evening with family and friends amid the small-town feel of downtown Fairfield. Festivities include visits with Santa Claus, caroling, children’s activities, a holiday scavenger hunt, performances, an open house, and holiday treats from downtown merchants. Rain or shine.

Duck Camp   Friday,  DEC  2, 2016

CALIFORNIA WATERFOWL ASSOCIATION —  Grizzly Ranch
Duck Camp is a two and a half day introduction to the art of waterfowling, held on December 2 - 4, 2016. The camp is designed to help new and beginner waterfowl hunters in the following areas: calling, decoy spreads, shooting, shot selection, distance judging, concealment, waterfowl identification, game laws, ethics, wild game preparation, and hunting opportunities. All participants need a valid 2016-2017 CA, hunting license with CA Duck Stamp and Federal Duck Stamp. You may attend by yourself or signup with a friend; cost is $300 per hunter. All of the waterfowl hunting at Duck Camp takes place at Grizzly Ranch located in the famed Suisun Marsh, bordering Grizzly Island State Wildlife Area. The ranch is over 900 acres and the wetlands are managed by CWA biologists. The blinds consist of two and three man tanks and stand-up blinds. Decoys and transportation to and from the blind are provided. For more information or to register, visit us online.

DIRECTIONS: Turn onto Grizzly Island Rd from Highway 12 in Suisun City. After 5.4 miles, you will fork right and cross Montezuma Slough Rd. After 3.3 miles turn right onto Van Sickle Rd. (Note: you should see a white fence) After 0.4 miles turn right into Grizzly Ranch. In 0.7 miles, you will arrive at the Ranch. (Check in at CWA sign)

BENICIA MAIN STREET —  Downtown Benicia
First Street merchants along with Benicia Main Street host this ever-popular open house at the beginning of the Christmas season. Merchants offer beverages and treats and show off their holiday goods while costumed carolers sing traditional Christmas tunes. Live entertainment, wagon rides, and wine tasting add a festive atmosphere to this family event.
