Traditional Hunter Education

8:00 AM CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH & WILDLIFE — Fire Station This is a 2-day class on Saturday, Feb 2, and Sunday, Feb 3. In order to be certified the student must attend the entire class including all sessions. Class starts 8:00 AM Sharp, both days. All students are required to obtain a California Get Outdoors ID (GO ID) prior to registering for California Hunter Education courses. If you have previously held a CDFW license (i.e. Fishing), your GO ID is printed on the license above your name. Students will need to show safe handling of firearms and pass the Hunter Education test with a score of 80% or better. There is no minimum age to attend California Hunter Education. Parents or guardians are encouraged to attend with young students, especially those younger than age 16, to help define new words or provide additional tutoring during and after class. 9:30 AM BENICIA STATE PARKS ASSOCIATION — Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden. Peña Adobe Historical Society Open House

11:00 AM PEÑA ADOBE HISTORICAL SOCIETY — Peña Adobe Park The Peña Adobe, California historical landmark #534, was built by the Peña family in 1842. Visit the Mowers-Goheen Museum or take a hike, wildlife is often spotted in the park. If you are interested in volunteering as a docent, there is an informational meeting at 11AM.
