9:00 AM SIERRA CLUB - SOLANO GROUP — Benicia State Recreation Area This hike takes us along tidal marshlands to bluffs with great views of the Carquinez Straits. Part of the trail is on flat paved road, part on a dirt trail with a moderate elevation gain. Dogs on leash allowed. Bring appropriate clothing for the conditions, water, snacks. Trail can be windy at times. Class M- 4- B. Meet: 9am Main park entrance off Columbus Parkway. There is a parking fee. By reservation only. Leader Doug 925-366-9612, Rain cancels. 9:30 AM BENICIA STATE PARKS ASSOCIATION — Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden.
