8:00 PM RUSH RANCH EDUCATIONAL COUNCIL — Rush Ranch Admire our amazing night sky at Rush Ranch, away from the city lights. See distant galaxies, star clusters and constellations. What is the difference between an emission and a planetary nebula? A galactic cluster and a globular cluster? These deep sky objects along with types of galaxies will be discussed. All of these objects will be viewed during the year. The evening begins with an indoor presentation, followed by outdoor telescope viewing. Telescopes will be on hand. Personal scopes & binoculars are welcome, but be familiar with their setup and use and arrive before dark. Mosquito repellant and warm clothing layers are a must. Children are welcome, but must remain supervised at all times. In order to preserve night vision, flashlights should be covered with red cellophane, and all latecomers should dim their headlights. Cloud cover will force cancellation of the outdoor part of the event. For questions, call 707-689-2639. Free but donations appreciated!
