Anyone can enter for a one or two mile course of fun! his is a fun, family friendly event and a great way to support Foxboro Elementary, as well as advertise for your business. Cultural & Natural Resource Hike   Saturday,  MAY  20, 2017

SOLANO LAND TRUST —  Rockville Trails Preserve
Explore with your imagination, past moments in the every day life of the local Patwin People. Discover how they might have utilized local natural resources to survive in our very own Rockville Trails Preserve. After a short tailgate presentation we will take a moderate hike up to some great vistas and hopefully be treated to some wildflowers and wildlife along the way. Bring comfortable walking shoes, water, sunblock, and insect repellent. We will meet at the "Ice House" at 8:00 am at Rockville Corners and leave promptly by carpooling to the West Gate. Pre-registration recommended online.
Registration is required.

DIRECTIONS: Meet promptly at the big red "Ice House" building on Suisun Valley Ct, near the intersection of Rockville Rd and Suisun Valley Rd, Fairfield, CA. Be ready to immediately carpool or caravan from there to the trailhead.

 
Beginning Bird Walk & Habitat / Native Plants Workshop   Saturday,  MAY  20, 2017

NAPA SOLANO AUDUBON SOCIETY —  Lynch Canyon Open Space Park
What are the elements that create a wildlife habitat? We will explore different habitats along the walk, and explore how each one supports different birds. We will also give tips on how you can easily create some habitats in your own yard, deck or patio. The workshop will start at 9:00a.m. followed by a walk at 9:30 a.m. until noon. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please bring binoculars if you have them and water.

Guided Hike to Green Valley Falls   Saturday,  MAY  20, 2017

BAY AREA RIDGE TRAIL —  Green Valley Falls
One of the most picturesque places in Solano County, this waterfall vies for the title of most beautiful in the Bay Area. The falls flow all year long and it is cool and inviting even on a hot day. The hike is fairly short, but there are some steep and difficult spots. The hike should last about 3 hours. The City of Vallejo limits each hike to 30 people. We'll take reservations on a first-come first-served basis. You must bring a photo ID, be older than 12 years old, and be accompanied by a parent or guardian if you are under 18. Save your spot now by registering online now. $10 for Ridge Trail Council Members, $25 for non-members.

Rockville Hills Regional Park Trail Crew   Saturday,  MAY  20, 2017

CITY OF FAIRFIELD —  Rockville Hills Regional Park
The Rockville Trail Crew volunteer work days are scheduled for the third Saturday of every month from 9-12noon, rain or shine! Trail Crew volunteers provide technical assistance with trail maintenance and construction activities on the trails. Trail Crew volunteer duties consist of clearing rocks, trees, brush and other debris from proposed trail routes; build/repair walk ways, bridges or other structures; grade/fill existing trail paths to ensure user safety; and attend all required meetings and training sessions. Volunteers should bring water, gloves and a tool if available. Volunteers should wear layered clothing and sturdy shoes. A snack and beverage provided for volunteers. Meet at the parking area. We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden.
