Run, skip, hike or walk at the Lynch Canyon Trail Run & Community Hike! To do the 2.5 mile community hike, just show up! It's free! To do the 5K, 10K, or Half marathon run:
•Through 1/1 (11:59pm): 5K=$15 / 10K=$20 / Half=$30
•1/2 through 3/6 (11:59pm): 5K=$20 / 10K=$30 / Half=$45
•3/7 through 5/1 (11:59pm): 5K=$30 / 10K=$40 / Half=$55
•5/2 through 6/2 (11:59pm): 5K=$40 / 10K=$50 / Half=$65
•Race Day: 5K=$50 / 10K=$60 / Half=$75

Lake Solano Canoe Tour   Saturday,  JUN  4, 2016

PUTAH CREEK COUNCIL & SOLANO COUNTY PARKS —  Lake Solano
Make a splash and join a guided canoe program at Lake Solano Park. Discover the wonders of Putah Creek through exploration, relaxation, and education. The tour is an opportunity to learn about life along the river and the special riparian forest that grows along its banks. To ensure a friendly, personal experience, the guided trip is limited to just 14 guests. Children age 8 and older are welcome if accompanied by an adult. The volunteers will give you basic safety and paddling instructions before you begin. Canoes, paddles, and lifejackets will be provided free of charge. Participants may want to bring water, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and paddling gloves. You will probably get wet, so a change of clothes is recommended upon your return to land. For those who want to take pictures, a dry bag (double ziplock bags work well) or water tight container is suggested to keep your camera dry.

Reservations are required. Reserve your spot online. Guests should arrive by 8:15am to pay the fees of $6 per vehicle. For questions in advance, contact Karin by email or 530-795-3006.

DIRECTIONS: Lake Solano Park straddles Pleasants Valley Road, north of Vacaville and near the town of Winters. Pay the $5 parking fee and park on the east-side of Pleasants Valley Rd.

Join us for this great Family Fun Day! FREE ADMISSION 9 A.M. TO 4 P.M. with Auction and Raffle. The Suisun Marsh Field Day has something for everyone with over 40 exhibitors featuring hunting guides, waterfowl and wildlife artists, marsh contractors, waterfowl gear and apparel, duck blinds, irrigation supplies, Wood Duck Program Display, tasty food trucks and CWA hot dog booth. There is a wide variety of events for kids: Junior Duck Calling Contest, drawing for a free Lifetime Hunting license, Free Trap Shooting for Juniors with individual instruction, Free Hunting License for qualifying Juniors, BB Gun Range, Free Sprig Membership, Free Door Prizes and Free Gun Stock Fittings for Juniors by Lance Keller (bring your gun.) We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden.

SUISUN MARSH NATURAL HISTORY ASSOCIATION —  Suisun Wildlife Center
Come celebrate and help care for the spring baby animals on Saturday, from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Suisun Wildlife Center. Enjoy cake and refreshments, and visits from our education animals. Learn how we care for our local wildlife. See the baby bird nursery, native plant garden, and our new Raccoon and Screech Owl enclosures. There will be lots of activities for kids! You can help support a baby duck, jackrabbit, raccoon, squirrel, owl or songbird by sponsoring their care for just one month. Learn about baby raccoons, jackrabbits, opossums and birds. Find out if you have what it takes to be a volunteer and work with wildlife! Or you can bring some badly needed supplies such as: apples and grapes, laundry soap, bleach, Dawn dishwashing soap, heating pads, or garden hoses. PEÑA ADOBE HISTORICAL SOCIETY & RUSH RANCH EDUCATIONAL COUNCIL —  Peña Adobe Park
Join the Peña Adobe Historical Society for our monthly Open House. The Peña Adobe Park located just off Interstate 80 at Peña Adobe Road. Visit the center of attraction at the 11/2 acre historical park and one of the oldest structures in Solano County, California historical landmark #534 and the former home of the Peña family. The park also includes the Mowers-Goheen Museum, the Willis Linn Jepson Memorial Garden, Indian Council Ground and picnic and recreation facilities. Join the Peña Adobe Historical Society in welcoming the UC Master Gardeners as they discuss home horticulture, pest identification, landscape maintenance, and other environmental issues. Bats - Bold, Beguiling, Blessed, Beautiful   Saturday,  JUN  4, 2016

RUSH RANCH EDUCATIONAL COUNCIL —  Rush Ranch Nature Center
Join us for an afternoon to learn all about these beautiful, beneficial, bug devouring creatures. Bat expert Corky Quirk, of NorCalBats, will give a presentation about bats native to California. Corky uses live bats in her presentation to illustrate the importance of bats in our environment, as well as some of the issues they face, and the harmful myths that surround them. There is no charge for this event; however, donations are encouraged.
