MARE ISLAND HERITAGE TRUST —  Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve
Join us August 11-13 as we celebrate the 11th Anniversary of the Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve! We'll have history tours, guided hikes, including along Mare Island's Southshore, chances to view the famous local osprey, visits to the old Naval cemetery, wine tastings, cooking classes, bikes rides, plus more workshops and presentations Most events are free, but check individual event listings. SOLANO LAND TRUST & SOLANO COUNTY PARKS —  Lynch Canyon Open Space Park
Families are invited to join us in exploring the beauty of Lynch Canyon Open Space Park. This month we will be strolling through this gorgeous park while using the natural setting to inspire nature journaling. Meet in the parking lot at 9:45. The hike is free and for kids of all ages. Parking is $6 (we are not able to make change). Be sure to bring snacks and plenty of water.

DIRECTIONS: From I-80 East, take the Hiddenbrooke Parkway exit and follow the Lynch Canyon signs. From I-80 West, take the Red Top Road exit and follow the Lynch Canyon signs.

GRIZZLY WATERS KAYAKING —  Suisun Marsh
The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by comet Swift-Tuttle, which was discovered in 1862.
