5th Annual It-Takes-Guts 5K Family Fun Run & Walk   Sunday,  SEP  18, 2016

IT-TAKES-GUTS  —  Lagoon Valley Park
Our 5th annual It Takes Guts 5K Family Fun Run/Walk will be held in Lagoon Valley Park on Sunday, September 18, 2016. All runners and walkers who are registered prior to 9/4/16 will be guaranteed an It-Takes-Guts t-shirt and a special award upon finishing the 5K. Registrants have the opportunity to create their own team and personal fundraising page! The pre-race Program begins at 9:15 a.m. Runners will begin at 10:00 a.m. and walkers at 10:02 a.m. The course is a simple, flat terrain, some parts are paved, others are dirt, rocky paths and is open to strollers and wheelchairs. Optional simple 2 mile course is available. Bring your own family picnic, chairs and blankets. The mission of It-Takes-Guts is to help others maneuver through the unchartered waters of autoimmune diseases. We fight by raising awareness and fundraising for research aimed at a cure. SOUL FOOD FARM —  Soul Food Farm
Soul Food Farm in partnership with Heirloom Tomato Maze welcomes you to walk through the garden maze made with almost 370 bales of hay and taste more than 200 heirloom tomato varieties. Enjoy guided maze tours, tomato and veggie tasting, special cooking demonstrations, gardening workshops, and more at Hay Bale Garden's very first Tomato Maze! The maze will be open Friday-Sundays, from 9am until 5pm. Suggested donation is $5.

VISIONS OF THE WILD 2016 — 
The annual Visions of the Wild festival connects nature, culture and community. The festival brings together all segments of the region, and in particular, the spheres of conservation and art. The 2017 festival will run Sep 6-10 at locations in and around Vallejo. All events--with the exception of the river cruises--are free to the public. This is a fun and interactive weekend with activities for all ages. Enjoy learning about the creatures of the bay, taking an interactive walk along the waterfront, or a cruise to find out more about the local hydrologic cycle and the health of the San Francisco Estuary ecosystem.
