Annual Murillo Classic   Saturday,  SEP  21, 2019

CIRCLE D HORSEMEN’S ASSOCIATION —  Circle D Horsemen Arena
Join us for our annual 2-day Gymkhana event, sponsored by Murillos Mexican Restaurant, Vacaville, CA. We'll run each event at least once, with some being run twice, over two days. There will be a daily high point, along with a two day combined, over-all high point. Get ready for some SPECTACULAR awards and some fast, fast, fast times. Dry camping is always free, however please be sure to bring your own portables. Events: Saturday - Type 1 Show Events: Barrels, Figure 8 Stake, Hurry Scurry, Poles 2, Speed Ball, Speed Barrels, Big T, Single Stake. Sunday - Type 2 Show Events: Birangle, Figure 8 Flags, Keyhole, Poles I, Quadrangle, Single Stake, Speed Ball and one rotated event from Type 1, tbd. Events may be subject to change based on discretion of show management. The two-day event will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at approximately 2:00 p.m. each day with an award presentation to follow at the end of the second day. Stebbins Cold Canyon Workday   Saturday,  SEP  21, 2019

TULEYOME —  Stebbins Cold Canyon
Tuleyome will continue to assist UC Reserve System with their restoration efforts at Stebbins Cold Canyon. This favorite hiking spot is in constant need of restoration due to the high number of visitors. Come help keep this great spot safe and enjoyable! Please bring snacks, lunch, WATER, and work gloves – Tuleyome will provide needed tools. Dress for the weather and getting dirty! Hill Slough / Rush Ranch Clean-up   Saturday,  SEP  21, 2019

SOLANO LAND TRUST & FAIRFIELD-SUISUN SEWER DISTRICT —  Hill Slough
California Coastal Cleanup Day is a volunteer opportunity throughout the state to help remove trash from our creeks, marshes, bays, and ocean. Hill Slough Bridge and Rush Ranch are part of a national system of reserves that protects more than 1.3 million acres of coastal land and water. The Hill Slough/Rush Ranch cleanup location is on Grizzly Island Road in Suisun City, at the first bridge, approximately 1.5 miles off of Highway 12. This is a site where kids should be 10 or older due to potential hazards associated with the tidal marsh. There are no bathroom facilities located here. Please register online.

DIRECTIONS: Meet near the Hill Slough Bridge on Grizzly Island Road, about 1.5 miles south of Highway 12 in Suisun City. Parking is on the road shoulder near the bridge. Be careful when exiting your cars.

 
Rindler Creek Clean-up   Saturday,  SEP  21, 2019

VALLEJO WATERSHED ALLIANCE —  Rindler Creek
Please join us on Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. You can find us at the Alliance cleanup site on the corner of Fairgrounds Drive and Coach Lane, or if you want to clean at a different site in town, email Valcore Recycling and they’ll help you find your spot. Wear closed-toe shoes, sturdy clothes, hat, sunscreen and gloves. Bring a bucket or water bottle if you have them. All participants will need to sign a waiver; volunteers under age 18 will need one signed by their parent/guardian. We’ll have waivers on site, or you can get yours in advance on online. See you there!

Rockville Hills Regional Park Trail Crew   Saturday,  SEP  21, 2019

CITY OF FAIRFIELD —  Rockville Hills Regional Park
The Rockville Trail Crew volunteer work days are scheduled for the third Saturday of every month from 9-12noon, rain or shine! Trail Crew volunteers provide technical assistance with trail maintenance and construction activities on the trails. Trail Crew volunteer duties consist of clearing rocks, trees, brush and other debris from proposed trail routes; build/repair walk ways, bridges or other structures; grade/fill existing trail paths to ensure user safety; and attend all required meetings and training sessions. Volunteers should bring water, gloves and a tool if available. Volunteers should wear layered clothing and sturdy shoes. A snack and beverage provided for volunteers. Meet at the parking area. This easy, family friendly hike will take place at Rockville Trails Preserve. Barbara Fredericks will lead some warm up stretches and a yoga session later on. Participants can enjoy the sun on their face and the wind in their hair while they do yoga. RSVP recommended online. This property is closed to the public.

We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden.

Horse Day at McIntyre Ranch   Saturday,  SEP  21, 2019

GVRD —  McIntyre Ranch
For ages 10-17 -- Learn about the friendly horses and goats, and participate in their daily care. Wear sturdy work clothes and tough shoes because this is a "hand-on" experience. You will put a halter on a horse, learn to lead horses safely, brush them, clean their feet and clean their stalls. Everyone will have a chance to sit on a horse (helmet are required and provided, keep hairstyle simple for easy fit). Eat a good breakfast, bring water bottle and wear layers. For more information contact the Coordinator at 707-648-4620. $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents. Pre-registration is required.

DIRECTIONS: McIntyre Ranch, located at the very end of St. John’s Mine Road, across from the Solano Community College Vallejo Center at 545 Columbus Parkway. Take St. John’s Mine Road and cross over the cattle crossing. Continue up the road and stay to the right to follow the road down to the barn. You are authorized to drive through this road for GVRD programs only.

 
Rush Ranch 'Get the Rush'   Saturday,  SEP  21, 2019

SOLANO LAND TRUST & RUSH RANCH EDUCATIONAL COUNCIL —  Rush Ranch
Get the Rush is a series of fun and free activities for the whole family, offered on the third Saturday of every month at Rush Ranch. All ages and mobility levels are welcome! This event is 100% volunteer-run and activities vary month-to-month. Get the Rush! is made possible by Rush Ranch Educational Council, Access Adventure, Napa-Solano Audubon Society, and Solano Land Trust volunteers. The blacksmith shop is open rain or shine. Rain, soil conditions, or extreme heat may cancel other activities.
