The ferries are a popular way to travel
between Vallejo and San Francisco.
The Vallejo Waterfront runs along the Mare
Island Strait.
Mare Island was formerly home to Mare Island
Naval Shipyard. Today there are many businesses, points of interest,
and even neighborhoods on the island.
Some of the cranes from the old shipyard are
still in use today.
