Mindfulness on the Marsh Workshop
Sunday,
JAN
5, 2014
10:00 AM SOLANO LAND TRUST Rush Ranch Start Your New Year by Relaxing into the Here and Now! The New Year is a powerful symbol in our lives—a time of reflection, promise, and renewal. Dedicate this first Saturday of January to your health and well-being. This workshop is designed to help you lower stress and become more centered. Learn to quiet your thoughts and practice mindfulness: focusing your awareness on the present moment, non-judgmentally. This way of being has the potential to be deeply restful, to promote healing, and to revive energy. Indeed it can be a way of life. Led by Dr. Peaslee DuMont, M.D., who has been practicing mindfulness for over 25 years. Be prepared for extended periods of silence and guided meditation, lots of sitting (or lying down, if you prefer), and slow walking. Recommended for ages 15 and up. Bring a picnic lunch, water, hot tea, or the like; protection from cold and wind (warm layers, hat, scarf, gloves); sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Optional additional items: your preferred folding chair and/or yoga mat (to be placed on the ground outdoors); cushion; blanket; notepad and writing instrument. Meet in the brick courtyard, rain or shine. (If raining, we'll take shelter). RSVP (appreciated, not required) to Natalie at 707-432-0150 x200 or by email. Leader: Dr. Peaslee DuMont Location: 3521 Grizzly Island Road Suisun City DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 12 in Suisun City, take Grizzly Island Road south approximately 2 miles. Entrance/driveway will be on the right. |
