Full Moon Night Photography   Wednesday,  OCT  16, 2013
3:00 PM

RUSH RANCH EDUCATIONAL COUNCIL —  Rush Ranch
We hope you can join us for an exciting one-night photography workshop at Rush Ranch Open Space. Rush Ranch, an operating cattle ranch, is a rustic 2,070 acre open space owned and managed by the Solano Land Trust. Tim Baskerville of The Nocturnes will teach on the "Hunter's Moon"--Oct 16. We will start off with a few docent-guided tours of the Ranch--in daylight!--including the 2-mile Suisun Marsh Trail and the Suisun Hill Trail with scenic vistas of the surrounding area. The Ranch provides a wealth of interesting subjects to photograph at night--old buildings and plenty of old farm equipment. After the tour, we will meet at the Visitor Center for a brief introduction to Night Photography, followed by detailed information about the evening's "shoot." Emphasis will be on evaluating existing lighting situations and exposing accordingly. Supplemental lighting possibilities will be discussed and demonstrated, with an emphasis on "Light Painting" techniques. Transparency, B&W, color negative films, and digital will be discussed. This is an intensive workshop limited to 15 participants, closely supervised on location. Students will provide their own equipment and should be familiar with basic photography techniques. A list of suggested equipment will be provided upon receipt of payment. Contact us in advance if you would like to camp out after the workshop. Proceeds from the workshop will benefit the outreach and education programs of the Rush Ranch Educational Council. For more information visit The Nocturnes. Register by Sep 16.
