SOLANO COUNTY PARKS —  Lake Solano County Park
Enjoy a walk on the wild side! This will be the last free, guided hike of Lake Solano in 2011. Travel the same paths as Native Americans and pioneers did in earlier times; get a closer look at the plants and trees that take root in the rich soils; look for bugs, turtles, and birds; and search for evidence of beavers, otters, deer and foxes. The hike this Sunday morning from 10am to noon. Meet in the courtyard next to the Lake Solano Park Nature Center. BRING: $5 cash (for parking), water, snacks or bag lunch, bug repellent. Be prepared for variable weather by bringing layered clothes, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and protection from sun. Optional: binoculars, camera.
