Mare Island Southshore Hike

9:30 AM SOLANO GROUP SIERRA CLUB — Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve Hike along Mare Island Strait out to Pier 35 where Carquinez Strait, Napa River and San Pablo Bay meet. Pass under Osprey and Great Blue Heron nests and visit an Historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard Cemetery. This is an easy 3.5 mile walk along level gravel and paved roads. After the hike explore Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve with its wonderful views of Sonoma Mt., Mt. Tam and Mt. Diablo. Leader: Brian Collett Food will be available. Location: Vallejo DIRECTIONS: Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve is located on the southern end of Mare Island at the end of Railroad Ave. |

Raptor ID and Natural History Workshop and Tour

10:00 AM SOLANO LAND TRUST — Rush Ranch Larry Broderick will show how to identify both year round and migratory raptors with over 100 photos. Lecture and handouts provided.
