BENICIA TREE FOUNDATION —  Francesca Terrace Park
No experience necessary. Tools and instruction provided. Bring gloves if you have them. Children under 14 must have accompanying adult and all participants must sign our release waiver. RSVP for details on meeting point by contacting the Benicia Tree Foundation at 745-4675 or by email. Set aside a few hours every second Saturday of the month to give our trees some TLC. Rain cancels.

Nature Hike at Lynch Canyon   Saturday,  OCT  24, 2020

SOLANO LAND TRUST & SOLANO COUNTY PARKS —  Lynch Canyon Open Space Park
This hike occurs every 4th Saturday of the month. The hike will take visitors westward along Middle Valley Trail leading to Prairie Ridge. Expect about a 5-mile hike at a moderate but even pace over uneven ground. Muddy spots will have cattle prints. There are steep climbs over several hills with the longest at Prairie Ridge. It’s worth it to see the view of the northern San Francisco Bay and Vallejo. Hike leaves promptly at 9:15 from the parking lot; expect to be back by noon. Docent guides will be discussing plant communities, landforms, and birds at Lynch Canyon, pointing out highlights as we go. Bring boots, appropriate clothing, water and a snack. BENICIA STATE PARKS ASSOCIATION —  Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden
We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden.
