73rd Annual Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival   Saturday,  OCT  9, 2021

Plan to be in downtown Rio Vista on the California Delta this October for a premier sportsmen's event ... the 73rd Annual Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival. The Sacramento River provides the perfect riverfront venue for the oldest bass fishing event on the west coast and a family-oriented Fall festival including a midway with carnival rides, food, drink, live entertainment, car show, and fireworks. SOLANO LAND TRUST —  Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park
Enjoy a Nature Hike at Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi (formerly known as Rockville Trails Preserve). We’ll travel about 4-6 miles up and down hills enjoying views of Solano’s valleys, the Delta, and Mt. Diablo. Registration is Required. Moderate to Strenuous, 9am-1pm. Registration is required. Please note, cancellation of the hike may occur due to County Fire Danger Warnings and closures of open spaces and parks. Once registered, you will receive any updates should this ever happen. We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden.

Join Trail Crew every second Saturday of the month in partnership with Solano County Parks to work on trails and projects at Lynch Canyon Open Space! Pumpkin Patch Festival    Saturday,  OCT  9, 2021

BAY AREA ELECTRIC RAILROAD ASSOCIATION —  Western Railway Museum
Experience the Solano County of yesteryear along the Western Railway Museum's electric train tracks. Enjoy the rolling hills as you travel to and from the Pumpkin Patch Festival. At the Pumpkin Patch, you can purchase your pumpkins, as well as snacks, drinks and other homemade specialties. There are plenty of activities at the pumpkin patch such as tractor rides, field maze, pumpkin chucking, petting zoo, pony rides and the giant hay bale fortress. All proceeds benefit the Western Railway Museum (a nonprofit educational institution) and the local Rotary Clubs who provide thousands of dollars to local community and youth activities each year. Non-member admission process are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors (65 and up), and $15 for children (ages 2 –14). Members prices are discounted. Prices include admission to the Museum and to the Pumpkin Patch, unlimited train rides, use of the Museum's spacious and shaded picnic grounds, and free parking. Tickets are available at the door or you may purchase them in advance online.
