GRIZZLY WATERS KAYAKING — Suisun Marsh The Geminids is the king of the meteor showers. It is considered by many to be the best shower in the heavens, producing up to 120 multicolored meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by debris left behind by an asteroid known as 3200 Phaethon, which was discovered in 1982. Please note that this event is scheduled from 12:00AM to 2:00AM. 7:00 AM NAPA - SOLANO AUDUBON SOCIETY — Benicia We are sorry and disappointed to announce that because of COVID-19 concerns, we have had to cancel this event. We hope you will join us next year! Join us for this year's Benicia Christmas Bird Count! The Benicia Christmas Bird Count was started in 1930 by Emerson Stoner. Since 1971 Napa Solano Audubon has been running it. Robin Leong is our long-time coordinator who helps our 75-100 participants cover our 15-mile circle. Our circle area includes the communities of Benicia, East Vallejo, Cordelia, and West Suisun City as well as parts of Grizzly Island and Grizzly Bay. We typically observe 160 - 175 species and since it's inception we have recorded 233 species. We even sometimes lead the nation in the number of Black Rails and Virginia Rails counted!
