GREATER VALLEJO RECREATION DISTRICT —  Dan Foley Park at Lake Chabot
Fishing for ages 5-10. Please pre-register ASAP! You can register online at www.gvrd.org or at our Main Office, 395 Amador Street. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times. We will have five different training stations set up for kids to learn how to fish! For more information, please contact Anthony Kenaston at 648-4483 or akenaston@gvrd.org. Rush Ranch 'Getting the Rush'   Saturday,  APR  16, 2011

SOLANO LAND TRUST —  Rush Ranch
Get the Rush is a series of fun and free activities designed for families—all ages and mobility levels are welcome! From 9:00am to 10:00am: Tour the scenic tidal marsh and upland grasses of Rush Ranch. 10am to 1pm: Take a trip back in time at the historic Rush Ranch Blacksmith Shop, and Little Bear's display of Native American tools and decorations. 11am to 1pm: Enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides (all are welcome, but the wagons are especially designed for wheelchairs and others with limited mobility). Rush Ranch is owned by Solano Land Trust, and Get the Rush is made possible by the all-volunteer organizations, Rush Ranch Educational Council and Access Adventure.

Solano County Parks and Solano Land Trust invite you to join a Solano County Park Ranger for a guided hike of Lynch Canyon. Learn about the animals and plants that live in the grassland, oak woodland, and riparian habitats, and about local human history. Be sure to pay the $5 parking fee. BRING: Backpack, water, snacks or bag lunch, insect repellent, boots or sturdy closed-toe shoes, and protection from sun, wind, fog, and rain. No RSVP required. Access Adventure uses uniquely designed vehicles to offer a safe and comfortable ride to anyone living with a condition that affects their ability to get around. Access Adventures' specially built Thornlea Carriages are designed to accommodate wheelchair users and and others with limited mobility.

Walk at Jepson Prairie   Saturday,  APR  16, 2011

SOLANO LAND TRUST —  Jepson Prairie
Jepson Prairie Preserve is just over 1500 acres and is one of California’s best remaining examples of vernal pools and native grasslands. Enjoy an easy, meandering walk in a portion of the Preserve only accessible with a Jepson Prairie docent. Under wide-open skies, the Preserve explodes into color during its spring wildflower display. Dry and dormant most of the year, the prairie is transformed by winter rains into a tapestry of stunning colors, and its vernal pools host a rich diversity of rare aquatic life. Bring: Backpack, water snacks or bag lunch, insect repellent.
