Thursday,

9:00 AM SOLANO LAND TRUST Jepson Prairie Come join us for one or more days of our 12th Annual Jepson Prairie Transect Monitoring! This year's planned dates are Tuesday through Thursday, April 24-26 (and, if needed, Friday, April 27). Each day starts at 9am and ends about 3pm, with a break for lunch. We meet at the Jepson Prairie picnic area at 9am and it usually takes until 3pm to complete the transects out and back. We usually have lunch at the end of the first transect (bring your own bag lunch) and then come back on the second transect. Expect to walk 2-3 miles off-trail, on flat but uneven terrain. We work in teams of 3-4 and look at the selected native plants as well as selected weeds. You don't have to know the plants. At the start of each day we'll teach plant identification and transect technique. We'd prefer to have volunteers stay an entire day but, if needed, you can stay only part of the day and return to the parking lot on your own. Volunteers can come out for one day or several. You will need to have a bag lunch, water, sunscreen, walking shoes (it could be wet) and layered clothing. RSVP required: ken@solanolandtrust.org, 707-580-6277. Leader: Ken Poerner Registration is required. Location: Dixon DIRECTIONS: Cook Lane off Highway 113 South 12 miles south of Dixon |
