8:00 AM ROTARY CLUB AND GVRD Dan Foley Park, Lake Chabot For ages 7-15. The fishing clinic is intended to teach participants how to fish. They will learn the basic skills such as casting, knot tying, putting a worm on the hook, safety, and watershed education. All participants must be accompanied by an adult, arrive no later than 9AM, participate in the clinic, follow Covid protocols, and use the fishing tackle provided. No personal tackle is allowed!. We’ll travel about 4-6 miles up and down hills enjoying views of Solano’s valleys, the Delta, and Mt. Diablo. Registration is Required. Moderate to Strenuous, 9am-1pm. Registration is required. Wildflowers & Water Critters Walk

10:00 AM SOLANO LAND TRUST Jepson Prairie Jepson Prairie Preserve is one of California’s best remaining examples of a vernal pool ecosystem and native grassland prairie. Dry and dormant most of the year, the prairie is transformed by winter rains into a tapestry of stunning colors, and its vernal pools host a rich diversity of rare aquatic life. Visitors can enjoy an easy guided walk which may include portions of the Preserve that are only accessible with a Jepson Prairie docent. Participants can learn about vernal pools and see the aquatic invertebrate and flowering plants that depend on them. Volunteer docents offer these two-hour tours every Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 a.m., March 12 through May 8 (Mother’s Day). For groups of 5 or more, RSVP online.
