9:00 AM MARE ISLAND HISTORIC PARK FOUNDATION — Mare Island Naval Cemetery The O'Kane Division of the Sea Cadets will again provide the Color Guard. Ceremony will include a wreath laying at the USS Boston Monument, which honors sailors killed while loading ammunition at Mare Island in 1892. Taps will be played. A souvenir photo of a Mare island event will be made available to attendees. Anyone needing guidance to the Cemetery should arrive to caravan at the Tennessee St. entrance to Mare Island by 8:45AM. A special History presentation for those who stay after the playing of Taps. Location: Vallejo DIRECTIONS: Located at the southern end of Railroad Avenue on Mare Island. |
