9:00 AM SOLANO LAND TRUST — Lynch Canyon Our land is our future, so jump in with your boots on! Help Solano Land Trust Land Steward, Ken Poerner, maintain Lynch Canyon's over 1,000 acres of grassland, oak woodland and riparian habitat. BRING: Backpack, water, snacks or bag lunch, insect repellent, work gloves. Be prepared for variable weather (bring layered clothes including pants, boots or sturdy closed-toe shoes, and protection from sun, wind fog, and rain. 9:30 AM CNPS - WILLIS LINN JEPSON CHAPTER — Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden We meet every Saturday from 9:30-11:30am in the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden located at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area for planting, weeding, and tending. Parking is free on Saturday Volunteer Days. Tell the Gate Attendant that you are going into the Park to work at the Garden. Memorial Walk for Frank Morris

10:00 AM THE DOCENTS OF LAKE SOLANO COUNTY PARK — Lake Solano County Park The docents of Lake Solano will offer a memorial walk in honor of the late Frank Morris. Frank was a docent at Lake Solano, a life-long learner and a gifted teacher. He is dearly missed. Just a few weeks ago he led a walk focused on Lake Solano's water and the fascinating plants and animals that depend on it. The morning of the tour, Frank collected dozens of plant and animal species and put them on display under magnifying lenses. He was in his element. Frank also loved getting out on the water -- he kayaked at Lake Solano nearly every Friday evening. This walk will be in honor of Frank, at his beloved Lake Solano. Meet in the courtyard beside the Nature Center. The walk is free and parking is only $5. Parking Fee: $5 Location: 8685 Pleasants Valley Road DIRECTIONS: Near Winters, CA, off Highway 128. |
