10:00 AM RUSH RANCH EDUCATIONAL COUNCIL Rush Ranch Volunteer blacksmith Virgil Sellers will demonstrate traditional blacksmithing tools and equipment in the ranch's historic shop. Little Bear will be on hand with a Native American culture display and to talk about his experiences growing up on a reservation. Access Adventure with Michael Muir shows off the ranch in a horse drawn carriage equipped with a wheelchair lift for persons with limited mobility. Able-bodied riders are also welcome. Program cancels if weather makes it unsafe. 10:00 AM WILLIS LINN JEPSON CHAPTER OF THE CALIFORNIA NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY Benicia State Recreation Area Celebrate with us the dedication of 8 interpretive panels, our first permanent educational outreach in the Botanic Garden, made possible by the hard work of volunteers and the partnership of the CA Department of Parks and Recreation, and funding from Solano County, California State Parks Foundation and the Delta Protection Commission. Everyone is welcome. Dogs on leash. Location: Benicia DIRECTIONS: At the Botanic Garden, located in the Benicia State Recreation Area, about 3/4 of the way out to Dillon Point. Park Entrance: take the Columbus Parkway / Rose Drive exit off Interstate 780. |
